BENSALEM, Pa. -- Law Offices of Howard G. Smith announces that it is investigating potential claims on behalf of purchasers of the securities of DynaVox Inc. (“DynaVox” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ:DVOX) concerning possible violations of federal securities laws. DynaVox designs, manufactures and distributes electronic and symbol-based augmentative communication equipment, software and services. The Company offers speech generating technology and special education software solutions for individuals with speech, language, physical or learning disabilities. The investigation concerns allegations that certain statements made by the Company concerning its business and financial prospects were materially false and/or misleading. On September 30, 2010, the Company issued a press release stating that during its first quarter of fiscal 2011, DynaVox “experienced a softening of demand for both its speech generating devices and software products.” As a result, the Company announced, it is withdrawing its previously issued earnings guidance for fiscal year 2011. For students to participate in any classroom activity, they need to believe that the activity will bring about some gains or sense of satisfaction (Brophy, 1998). Learning a foreign language can be made possible with an effective learning and teaching process (Tagaki, 2005). Dornyei (2001a) states that when language students feel that their efforts are not appreciated, they view the cause of their failure as lack of ability and stop trying to learn. In this process, students lacking motivation cannot concentrate on the lesson Rosetta Stone Software they believe that they do not have the capacity to learn, they cease trying, do not cooperate, behave in a disruptive way, and do not complete assignments (Chambers, 1993).As leaders, where teachers are leaders, teachers have the power to affect students at every level of education. A teacher who is a good model and shows that he/she takes great pleasure in teaching has a positive role in encouraging students to learn. Students who see that their teacher is really enthusiastic may feel more motivated to learn (Csikszentmihalyi, 1997). Activities, materials, and textbooks used in the classroom should serve the function of meeting students' needs if the motivation of the students is to be enhanced (Crookes & Schmidt, 1991).SOME MOTIVATIONAL APPROACHES IN L2 TEACHINGIn the process of learning a foreign language, students' perceptions of the target language and culture have important influences. The individual learning L2 needs to internalize the social and cultural elements of the target language (Dornyei, 1998). According to Gardner's (1985) motivation theory, the main components are integrative motivation, attitude and motivation, and a socioeducational model. Integrative motivation is the reinforcement of the desire to learn with positive attitudes towards the learning goal. In the context of learning L2, intense interest in the target language and its culture means dynamics are present in the learning-teaching environment and the level of motivation is high. The motivation/attitude component includes orientation towards integration, instrumental orientation, learning anxiety, and family support. In the socioeducational model, integrative motivation in L2 learning is the focal point.
